CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Many options are available for private or semi- private classes, from live classes to Zoom classes - check the schedule for what is currently offered or text me if you would like to find another time.
A class is usually composed of ASANAS (Sanskrit term referring to poses), of PRANAYAMA (breathing techniques), of DHARANA (techniques of concentration) in order to slowly move towards DYANA (meditation). Last pose of the class is SAVASANA, which is a pose of complete release to allow your body to assimilate, integrate the practice.
HATHA 1
A basic introduction to yoga breathing and postures. Intended for beginners.
HATHA 2
Refines the basics and provides more detailed alignment instructions and breath work.
HATHA 2/3
Teaches more advanced standing and seated poses, pranayama, and begins integrating inversions, deeper backbends, and meditation techniques.
HATHA ALL LEVELS
Includes the basics as well as options for a deeper practice. Appropriate for all students.
GENTLE FLOW
A slow-paced practice with gentle sequencing recommended for beginners.
YIN YOGA
Yin yoga poses stay close to the ground, are settled into with various modifications offered, and held for 3-6 minutes. Yin poses nourish connective tissue (facial), joints, and bone health; and quiet the mind. Each practice is infused with mediation tools.
VINYASA
A moderate-paced practice that builds stamina and strength through a series of flowing poses. Students should be comfortable coming quickly into standing poses with good alignment and should be practicing at Hatha 2 level or above.
